Skilsets

Skilsets are our "how"...

Developed over several years, this is the Design Process we use to create a product - while growing our Mindsets.

A Challenge can be found or given

Generating Ideas is where more thoughts are created, collected or discovered. It is the 'breadth' or developing the top of the "T Shaped" person.

Prototyping or Ideating is where the vast wealth of ideas are narrowed down to fewer and fewer. It is the 'depth' or developing the bottom o the "T Shaped" person.

Celebrate is "So what, now what?" What will I do with it? This will relate to the audience in the Challenge.

Refine happens all the time and informs our next steps. It requires outside input.

Mindsets

Mindsets at Raroa are - ASPIRE

Actively Involved:

I meet the needs of an audience other than myself
I explore new materials and new areas
I work with a range of people, collaboratively

Skilfull and Inquisitive:

I show evidence for each step of the design process
I ask questions which lead to a better product
I think about and respond to feedback

Persistent:

I seek feedback from others
I show evidence of making “mistakes” in my learning journey.
I follow a challenge through to completion
I finish to a high standard

Independent:

I seek and provide help and advice
I manage my time and resources effectively
My progress is recorded (briefly)

Respectful:

I listen and respond to others with empathy
I seek and provide encouragement
I show empathy for people and places

Enjoying Ourselves:

I show an understanding of what I enjoy.
I celebrate the success of myself and others
Discovery leads to enjoyment.
